Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
When a person experiences the Grace of God it is more amazing than the mind can comprehend. The word grace itself rings true in your heart with an awesome sound more majestic than anything heard in the earth.
Understanding the fact that we were in total need to be saved from the world and even ourselves makes the Grace that God sends through JESUS cause us to embrace Him even more.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
The understanding that we were lost is the only way to understand that we are found. The understanding that we were blind is the only way we can know that true sight has come. A person who is going under water and is drowning understands how blessed they are to be saved and to have breath breathed back into their body.
A person who receives sight when they have walked around in complete darkness will marvel at the smallest of things that the average person takes for granted.
T’was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
There are two types of fear spoken of in this verse. The first is the fear that Grace produces. This is the fear of God because He was the one powerful enough to free us from sin, death and hell so that we are found in His love.
The second is the fear that comes from the world system and hell itself; it destroys faith. Grace removes all of this type of fear so that you can embrace the true fear which will produce wisdom in your life.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.
At the very moment a person believes that JESUS is the one who brought this Grace to the world then Grace becomes one of the most precious things found in the entire earth. And takes place immediately!
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
The reason you can come through dangers, toils and snares is because of Grace and Grace alone. We need God’s Grace to be the supply for life so that we can come through issues.
This verse indicates that Grace has already brought us through!
‘Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.
The Grace of God is used to live by in the earth and it is the Grace of God that will get us to our heavenly home.
The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
(Many times this stanza is left out when this awesome song is sung.)
The Lord has already given us many promises of His goodness and all of them are received as a free gift which is the Grace of God. The word of God is the way that we learn how to live in the Grace of God!
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
The one who saved us and gave us GRACE is the same one who is our shield and portion and His name is JESUS! Learn to live in the faith of the Son of God!
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
There is an understanding that we all will die but if we live or die it is all through and for Jesus by the Grace He provided.
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
There is an entering in behind the heavenly veil to begin a new existence and life unlike anything I have experienced on earth but must still live by the Grace that JESUS provided for me.
When we’ve been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun
It doesn’t matter how long we are in heaven, we will live by His Grace and the brightness.
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’ve first begun.
We sing the praises of God in the earth and we will forever sing His praises mainly for the Grace that He has provide for our lives through HIS Son JESUS!
